After living in Portugal for 15 years and teaching English in various capacities there, including at the University of Aveiro, I moved back to the United States in 2019. Returning for our church was the best decision we have ever made and God has been so good to us. Reading the Bible everyday and trying to keep the commandments of Jesus are my priorities, along with loving my family and all the people God has put into my life. Helping people is something I enjoy doing, and meeting the individual needs of students who want to learn English is important to me.

Clueless Joe Jackson- clueless means not knowing what is going on; Shoeless Joe Jackson was a famous American baseball player.
Jumper cables- used to start a car with a dead battery
Fudge log-  a cake shaped like a log made of fudge usually made at Christmas time
Leather bomber jacket- a leather jacket that closes at the waste
Co-pilot- the assistant pilot
Feign enthusiasm- pretend to be happy
Bedazzler- a tool used to decorate material with shiny stones
Crapper- toilet

Step counter- a device worn on the wrist to keep track of the number of steps walked.
Roll back the mileage- mechanically turn back the number of miles on an automobile.
67 Buick- type of car (please click on word to see image)
street walker- this can be used to refer to a prostitute
sick about it- very upset about it
go to the app and hit a button- go to an online application and click on something
broad- derogatory word for woman
there’s no awww here- don’t say awww as that reflects admiration for something nice someone has done, and in this case that isn’t why Mike did what he did.
lojacked- a device to locate stolen cars, or slang for ankle cuffs people on house arrest must wear.
